Terminal Parking Tips

Vallejo Baylink Ferry departures leave on time. Ensure that you allow yourself enough processing time at the terminals to find a parking space and buy your ticket before boarding the ferries. These insider tips will help you find a space and board your ferry on time.

Vallejo Ferry Terminal Parking

Arrive on Time: Give yourself at least 20 minutes at the terminal to park your car or load your bike, purchase tickets and come aboard. Ferry departures leave on time. Ample free parking is available at the Vallejo Ferry Terminal directly across Mare Island Way from the Terminal. The parking lots on the west side of Mare Island Way, immediately to the north and to the south of the Vallejo Ferry terminal are limited to 3 hours only.

Busiest Departure Times: The most popular departure times from the Vallejo Ferry Terminal are weekdays 630am; 745am; weekends 10am, 1130am and 1pm.

Overnight Parking: Overnight parking is allowed up to 48 hours. Parking in public lots is at your own risk. Parking lot security is only provided during the day time and - while most people report no problems - we advise people to park near one of the bordering streets or under a parking lot light.

San Francisco Ferry Building Parking

Arrive on Time: Give yourself 20 minutes at the terminal to purchase tickets from our vendor, Bay Crossing, located in the San Francisco Ferry Building. Once you have parked your car and purchased tickets, our Baylink crew will check your ticket at the main entrance of Gate B and come aboard. Ferry departures leave on time.

Busiest Departure Times: On weekdays, the 5:15pm is the most popular departure from the San Francisco Ferry Terminal, followed closely by the 4:30pm. On weekends, it is the 4:30pm.

Limited Parking: San Francisco Ferry Terminal, passengers are encouraged to utilize alternative transportation modes when boarding at the S.F. Ferry Building. If you arrive by car, there is limited public parking on site. Additionally, a public lot located at the corner of Embarcadero and Washington is available.

Pier 41 (PIER 39) Parking

Arrive on Time: Pier 41 Ferry Terminal processing time is 5-10min. Give yourself at least 20 minutes (at least 30 minutes during the summer) to park your car or load your bike, and purchase tickets at Blue & Gold Fleet's Ticket Office at PIER 39. Boarding will begin 5-10 minutes prior to departure at Pier 41, less than a 50-yard walk from Ticket Office. Ferry departures leave on time.

Popular Departure Times: The most popular departure times are weekdays 3:10pm and weekends 4:10pm.

Look for the Yellow Jackets: The departing ferry gate may be difficult to find. Feel free to ask one of Blue & Gold Fleet's Guest Assistance Representatives situated at the Ticket Office or at any of the Gates between Pier 41 and PIER 39. They will be happy to point you to the correct gate where the queue will be. The Guest Assistant Representatives will collect the ferry ticket when you board the boat.

Limited Parking: Parking is available across the street from Pier 41 at the PIER 39 Parking Garage. The garage, depending on the season, has limited parking spaces so passengers are encouraged to utilize alternative transportation modes when boarding Vallejo Baylink at Pier 41. Overnight parking is available at the Pier 39 garage.

NOTE: Restaurant patrons who dine at one of PIER 39's full-service restaurants can receive one hour free validated parking at lunch and two hours free validated parking after 6 p.m. for dinner. To receive your parking validation, please present your PIER 39 parking ticket to your server. Validations are not issued at the garage.
